Qualified and experienced

Led by Kim Foster, MD, the St Joseph's Pre-School team is highly experienced in Early Years and Primary education.  The team brings the combination of skills, passion and commitment to the holistic development of their pupils that parents can depend on and trust.

 

All support personnel are minimum level 3 qualified and are first aid, safeguarding and prevent trained as well as DBS cleared.  Continued Professional Development (CPD) during the year includes courses such as hygiene, child development, schemas, SEN and language acquisition.

Kim Foster

Kim Foster is a professional teacher with over 20 years primary level experience.

 

Mrs Foster’s qualification and early teaching experience was gained in South Africa before she relocated to the UK.  Six years at St Mary’s Catholic School in Hammersmith (including two as Deputy Head) were followed by five years at St Thomas More Catholic School in Saffron Waldon.

 

She joined the St Joseph’s Catholic School family in 2013 where she quickly established herself as a key member of the school community, initially within Key Stage 1 and then within the EYFS.  Her most recent years were enjoyed as a Reception teacher within the critical environment of the children's first formal year of schooling.

    

Between teaching years, Mrs Foster gained valuable commercial experience in founding a sign language business for babies and as a sales representative for Maskew Miller Longman.  Her private time is dedicated to her family, friends and her sports - running and hockey.

Zuzana Standish

Mrs Standish is a fully qualified support teaching professional
with over 8 years exeprience in the St Joseph's community.

 

Zuzana Standish is a highly valued, experienced and dedicated support teacher at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.  She gained her 8 years of experience at the school through a broad platform of support teaching within both Early Years and with older children in Key Stages 1 (5-7 year olds) and 2 (8-10 year olds).  Since 2014, she has given her time selflessly by volunteering at the Holiday Bible Week Summer Camp, testament to her passion and commitment to the rounded development of children within the St Joseph’s community.

​

Mrs Standish’s key vocational qualification of Diploma in Support Teaching and Learning is augmented by a variety of specialist attainments within education, child wellbeing and beyond.  She initially qualified as a dietician in the Czech Republic, assisting hospitalised patients with special dietary needs.  Several years in Australia followed, where she completed a Diploma of E-Business at the Windsor institute in Sydney.  Mrs Standish also currently works as an Exam Invigilator at St. Marys Catholic Secondary School.

Marie Hogg

Ms Hogg is a certified early years practitioner
boasting 10 years experience educating children between the ages of 3 and 10.

​

Marie Hogg's career experience is founded on practical experience caring for and educating children within both early years and key stages 1 and 2.  Her formal training includes the therapeutical and educational use of toys and playground equipment to help children build motor and social skills, thereby increasing individual self-confidence.

​

Gaby Becerra

Mrs Becerra holds Level 2 TQUK certification in Caring for Children & Young People and is currently studying toward their Cache Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce. 

​

After university graduation and an early career in textile design, Mrs Becerra's passion for helping children to develop skills in key areas saw her transition to Early First Years education.  She believes game play is a cornerstone to children's learning about the world that surrounds them and key to the development of individual expression, imagination and creativity.

Mrs Becerra was welcomed to the Joseph's Pre-school team in March 2023.

Mrs Becerra's professional attainments:

BA Textile Design, Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico.

 Cache Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (studying).

Phonics Teaching Diploma, Teaching Express (studying).

TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Introducing Caring for Children and Young People (RQF).

Range of vocational certifications including Child Development (0-5 Years), Paediatric First Aid, Food Safety and Safeguarding courses.
